Refunds and Returns Policy

Changing Your Mind

I hope you’ll love your handmade basket, but if you change your mind about a standard item purchased online, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving it.

You do not need to give a reason for cancelling.

Please contact James within the 14-day period to let him know that you wish to return your order.

Once you have notified James, you have a further 14 days to return the item. These periods reflect the statutory rules for online purchases. GOV.UK

Returning Your Basket

Unless the basket is faulty, damaged or not as described, you are responsible for the cost of returning it.

Please package the basket carefully so that it is protected during its return journey. We recommend using a tracked or otherwise appropriate delivery service.

Returns should be sent to:

Baskets by James
6 Highcroft Close
Bognor Regis
West Sussex
PO22 8DS

Please contact James before sending your return so that he knows to expect it.

You may examine the basket as you would if you were viewing it in a shop. If it has been handled beyond what is reasonably necessary and its value has consequently been reduced, an appropriate deduction may be made from the refund. Legislation.gov.uk

Refunds

Once your returned basket has been received, your refund will be made using your original payment method.

Refunds will be processed without undue delay and no later than 14 days after the returned goods are received, or after you provide evidence that they have been sent back, if earlier. Legislation.gov.uk

Personalised & Custom-Made Baskets

The normal change-of-mind cancellation right does not apply to goods that have been made to your specifications or clearly personalised for you. Legislation.gov.uk

This would include, for example, a basket individually created following your choice of willow, bead colours, handles or other custom details.

This does not affect your rights if the basket is faulty, damaged or not as described.

Faulty or Damaged Items

If your basket arrives damaged, is faulty or is not as described, please contact James rather than simply returning it.

Where there is a fault, James will work with you to arrange the appropriate refund, repair or replacement and will cover reasonable return costs where required. Consumer rights for faulty goods are separate from the change-of-mind returns policy. GOV.UK

Workshop Bookings

Workshop cancellations are covered by the workshop cancellation policy in the Terms & Conditions rather than this returns policy.
